Oh Beautiful Day . . .

Planning can have its ups and downs especially when teaching young children. The downfall is they don't always want to do your plan, and usually it is best to go with the flow so that they enjoy learning and feel like they can choose what they are interested in. One good thing about planning is that when they think your plan is fun, they get excited.

Today when I told Kaden we were going to make tool/garden belts he just couldn't wait to start. After a morning of going to the gym and having lunch at Ali's we had to get started right away.

He got to help iron out the fabric, cut the pieces, keep track of the steps in the process, push the foot pedal for the sewing machine and cut the threads. We followed this tutorial for our belts.

Of course when Will woke up from his nap we repeated the process for him.

Tomorrow we are going to "decorate" our belts.

After our sewing we headed outside with a picnic basket of snacks, a blanket and books. We rested, ate, sunbathed and read for about an hour and then went on an "adventure" walk.

Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely love my life and where I live??? ;-) Just wanted to make sure you hadn't missed that part.

Too cute! Can't wait to have a life like that. :) I love that Will's wearing his toolbelt in the Friday gardening pics your mom posted today. A sign he really loves it. :)
