More on the Ladybugs . . .
If you've read The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle you know that it's a great study in telling time.
We broke out our great little wipe off clock that we got at Wal-Mart for Kaden to practice telling time. He also got great number writing practice in.
We wanted to go on a walk and find some ladybugs outside, but it was a tad bit cold today, and, well . . . we have ladybugs in our house. I know weird huh? I don't know if that's part of country living or what, but through the winter we have ladybugs that stay up on our ceiling. So we found one and studied it and talked about it.
Kaden completed his version of The Grouchy Ladybug book.
Here's his bees.
And his monkeys.
He "read" the book to us, and surprisingly quoted it almost exactly. (Until he started adding his own creative parts like, "You're not big enough, and too smelly" on the skunk part and "You're not big enough and too slimy" on the snake part. Gotta love that creativity!
We touched a bit on how bad for that ladybug that it missed out on a full day and as many aphids as it could eat because it chose to have a bad attitude. My boys were like yeah whatever mom, but I keep at it. They'll remember someday!

The best thing they'll remember is that you love them! (at least that's what I hope you remember) ;)
We have ladybugs in one room every winter. I try to vacuum them, but they don't go away.

So cute! Kaden is becoming QUITE the little artist. I hope your labeling these drawings of his like your mom suggested awhile back. ;)
