Learning with a Rope
As you can see these pics were taken in December, but this is a game that is requested about once a week in our house. "Can we play with the rope".
I string a rope across the room (attach it somehow to something and then hold the other side.
Then I call out directions. They learn a vast array of motor skills, positional and directional terms, pretending to be certain animals, counting, and on and on.
There are endless things you can do with this. Hop over the rope like a bunny. Stand beside the rope. Put your back to the rope. Crawl like a snake under the rope. Jump 4 times over the rope. Hop 3 times on 1 leg over the rope. Put your left arm over the rope. And on and on and on.
As anytime with creative play I ask them what else they can think of to do with the rope. It's fun to see their little minds work.

Great idea!
I love that! You could reinforce directions (North, south, ect) with that too.
That is a great idea!
